Your modifications to the liberty cassette has made my life harder while doing my care!

I don’t know who came up with the lamebrained idea to shorten the intake line from 20 ft. to 17 ft. and the drain line from 20 ft. to 10 ft.on liberty cassette used in my cycler. What it has done for me is to make my peritoneal dialysis harder and more inconvenient to me to do every single night.

The biggest change and the biggest issue for me is the fact that the three feet you removed from the intake line makes it impossible for me to reach the toilet without having to disconnect from the cycler, and thenpissing or crapping all over myself. The twenty foot line allowed me to reach my toilet without having to stop my cycle, disconnect myself from the line, and make it to the toilet in time so as not to soil myself, and then have to go through the process of cleaning myself up before being able to reconnect and finish my cycle. The 20 ft. line allowed me the freedom of not disconnecting from my treatment.

It would seem to me that before you made these sort of changes to the cassette, you would have gotten feedback from the people that it would affect the most: THE PATIENTS! Listening to the engineers and the bean counters that don’t have any idea of how it affects the actual patient’s lives is nothing less than irresponsible.

I agree with the person complaining about the cassette changes. It seems it would be better health wise and financial to have the lines longer and not having to use an extender. Why the change? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

it took a Month, several calls and escalation, but I got my 15ft cord changed to 20ft. Talk to your team bc the process isn’t easy or fast, but it’s possible.
