Shortened Drain and Patient Lines - HORRIBLE!

My 84 year old mother received her last supply order and upon setup,we realized the patient line and drain line are shorter. We had everything set up perfectly. Now she can't reach her bathroom without moving the machine and the drain line is too short as well. Shame on you, Fresenius for not giving patients notice or giving them a choice. Not sure how we are going to handle this.

    I actually got peritonitis because I had a totally unexpected bout of diarrhea and in trying to get to my toilet in time I tore the PD catheter because the 10 foot patient line does not reach my bathroom. Terrible impact on quality of care all for what reason? Save a penny on supply costs?

    We were notified by our clinic nurse of the upcoming change; however, we also do not like the shorter (and thinner) drain line, which, by the way, no longer has a bubble window to check for clarity of the drainage.
